Four faculty members from the University of Kurdistan have been recognized as national laureates for their outstanding collaboration with society and industry in the academic year 1404 (2025-2026).

Recognition of Four University of Kurdistan Faculty Members as Distinguished Contributors to Society and Industry

According to a report by the University of Kurdistan Public Relations, the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology (MSRT), following the 1404 evaluation cycle, identified four faculty members from the University of Kurdistan as distinguished national professors due to their significant achievements in applied research and industrial partnerships.

Dr. Shirko Ebrahimi Mohammadi and Dr. Khaled Osati, from the Department of Watershed Management Engineering, were honored for their technical breakthroughs, including the construction of a pyrolysis furnace, the production of oak-derived biochar for soil conservation, and their influential presence in national water resource committees.

Furthermore, Dr. Reza Shafei, from the Department of Business Management, was recognized for his strategic contributions, specifically the formulation of investment packages for border regions and the development of branding strategies for the handmade carpet industry in western Iran. Dr. Kamran Mostafaei, from the Department of Mining Engineering, earned a place among this elite group for developing optimized methods for fault identification at the Gol-Gohar mine and determining strategic exploration targets.

This recognition underscores the deep commitment of the University of Kurdistan and its academic staff to bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and the practical, industrial, and social needs of the country.
