In Line with Enhancing Global Standing and Scientific Diplomacy:
Synergy between Academic Affairs and International Relations; Honoring Pioneers of Services to International Students at the University
According to the Directorate of International Affairs at the University of Kurdistan, a cordial meeting was held at the International Affairs office to honor and appreciate the dedicated staff and activists of the faculties' academic departments. This initiative aligns with the university's strategic plans to develop scientific diplomacy and enhance the quality of services provided to the international student community.
The meeting was organized to strengthen communication channels between administrative and operational units and to recognize colleagues who play a pivotal and direct role in streamlining academic processes for international students.
The session was attended by Dr. Hossein Bevrani (Director of International Affairs), Dr. Hemin Noorbakhsh (Director of International Students), Dr. Najmuddin Jabbari (Head of the Persian Language Center for Non-Persian Speakers), Ms. Lame’eh Hashemi (Lead Expert for International MoUs and Projects), and Dr. Keyvan Qaderi (University Accreditation and Ranking Officer). During the event, the effective services and collaborations of Dr. As’ad Mahdavi (Head of Academic Affairs, Faculty of Natural Resources), Ms. Arina Hosseini (Head of Academic Affairs, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences), and Ms. Solmaz Moradi (Lead Expert for Graduate Studies, Faculty of Language and Literature) were formally recognized and honored.
At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Hossein Bevrani emphasized the fundamental importance of internationalization in modern higher education. He stated that the recruitment, guidance, and satisfaction of international students constitute a chain process, the backbone of which is formed within the faculties' academic departments. He noted that the compassionate cooperation of academic officials plays a decisive role in enhancing the scientific authority and global standing of the University of Kurdistan.
Subsequently, other senior managers and experts in the international sector elaborated on various aspects of admission processes, Persian language instruction, international ranking requirements, and the legal frameworks of MoUs. They identified comprehensive synergy as the primary key to the university's success in global evaluation indices.
A significant portion of the meeting was dedicated to specialized dialogue and an exchange of views among the participants. The invited academic officials, drawing on their direct experience with the academic concerns of international students, presented constructive proposals and solutions.
Key topics discussed in detail included the optimization and facilitation of registration and admission processes for postgraduate studies, strengthening administrative communication channels between specialized faculties and the Persian Language Center, providing innovative solutions for the cultural and educational adaptation of students in the faculties of Humanities and Natural Resources, and enhancing academic data registration structures to improve the university's international ranking and accreditation indices.
At the conclusion of the meeting, plaques of appreciation were presented to Dr. As’ad Mahdavi, Ms. Arina Hosseini, and Ms. Solmaz Moradi for their support in advancing international student affairs. Participants emphasized the continuity of such brainstorming sessions to refine processes and further strengthen the international position of the University of Kurdistan.
