Dr. Naghi Shabanian, a faculty member of the Department of Forestry at the University of Kurdistan, has been appointed as the "Acting Deputy for Forest and Green Belt Development" of the Tehran Parks and Green Spaces Organization by a decree from the Deputy Mayor for Urban Services and Environment of Tehran Municipality.
University of Kurdistan Faculty Member Appointed to Lead the Capital's Green Belt Development
According to the Public Relations Office of the University of Kurdistan, Mr. Davoud Goudarzi, the Deputy Mayor for Urban Services and Environment, issued the decree entrusting Dr. Shabanian with the responsibility of steering the development of the forest and green belt of the capital.
The decree addressed to Dr. Shabanian states in part:
"In view of your merit, excellent record, expertise, and valuable experience, you are hereby appointed as the Acting Deputy for Forest and Green Belt Development of the Tehran Parks and Green Spaces Organization. It is expected that you will exercise due diligence based on approved upstream documents and announced programs within the framework of the law, while respecting the rights of citizens and recognizing the necessity of providing continuous, timely, and appropriate services in line with the growing urban needs."

It is noteworthy that Dr. Shabanian has achieved significant success in scientific and executive arenas and was recently appointed as the Head of the Secretariat for "Low Forest Cover Countries" (LFCCs).
