University of Kurdistan Hosts "Thousand-Professor Meeting" Honoring Scientific Martyrs and the Faculty Basij

During the event, Hojjatoleslam-val-Moslemin Abedin Rostami, the Representative of the Supreme Leader at the University of Kurdistan, elaborated on the role of the Basij in the Islamic Revolution, defining a Basiji as "a servant of the people, patient, and loyal to the ideals of the martyrs." He emphasized the need to avoid materialism and serve the people selflessly, stating, "One who is attached to worldly matters and has not served the people is not worthy of the title 'Basiji'."

Subsequently, Dr. Eghbal Alimirzaei, Head of the Kurdistan Province Faculty Basij Organization, highlighted the Basij's influential role in security, development, economy, and culture. He contrasted "jihadi and self-reliant thinking" with "consumerist thinking," attributing some national setbacks to the prevalence of a non-jihadi outlook. He also outlined the Faculty Basij's achievements over the past year, which included:

  • Implementing a transformation program in the humanities.

  • Fostering synergy among the faculty, staff, and student Basij.

  • Organizing "Rahian-e Noor" (Journeys of Light) trips and insight-building courses.

  • Proposing policy packages and holding the Shahid Chamran Scientific Festival.

In another segment, Sardar Rezaei, Commander of the Beit-ol-Moqaddas Corps of Kurdistan, paid tribute to the exalted status of martyrs. He described the "Basiji mindset" as the primary factor in the Iranian nation's victory over the conspiracies of the past four decades. "Today, the guidance of the Supreme Leader, our missile capabilities, and the support of the people are the pillars of our national security," he added. He deemed the role of elites and professors in the "Jihad of Clarification, knowledge production, and neutralizing the enemy's psychological operations" as decisive.

The ceremony concluded with an honoring of the families of martyrs Taher and Nabi Majidiyan and a number of outstanding activists from the Scientific Basij and the Faculty Basij.
