A new opportunity for collaborative scientific research

Call for Joint Research Proposals: A Step Forward in Strengthening Iran-Iraq Scientific Relations

In alignment with the objectives outlined in the Memorandum of Understanding on Scientific Cooperation between Iran and Iraq, the Ministries of Science of both countries invite researchers to submit joint research proposals in priority areas including biodiversity, bioeconomy, environment, oil and gas, and infrastructure.

The primary goal of this call is to foster scientific and research collaboration between the two nations, facilitate knowledge exchange, promote the development of innovative technologies, and enhance international scientific cooperation. Researchers are encouraged to collaborate with their counterparts in the neighboring country to design and implement joint projects aimed at addressing common challenges and promoting sustainable regional development.

Priority Areas:

  • Biodiversity: Studying and conserving native species and natural habitats.
  • Bioeconomy: Developing and improving agricultural and livestock systems for food security.
  • Environment: Managing water resources, addressing environmental pollution, and mitigating climate change.
  • Oil and Gas: Developing advanced technologies in the oil and gas sector.
  • Infrastructure: Improving transportation, energy, and communication infrastructure.

Proposal Submission Guidelines:

  • Proposals: Researchers must submit proposals approved by their university's research council to the International Scientific Cooperation Center of the Ministry of Science by the end of Azar month.
  • Joint Collaboration: Research projects must be executed jointly by Iranian and Iraqi researchers.
  • Value Addition: Research projects should have scientific and practical value and contribute to addressing the challenges outlined in the priority areas.
