The University of Kurdistan, as the flagship university in Kurdistan Province, offers diverse academic programs through 9 faculties, 49 academic departments, 11 research centers, and 1 research institute. It provides curricula across 75 undergraduate fields/specializations, 141 master’s fields/specializations, and 60 doctoral fields/specializations.

Program Durations:

  • Undergraduate: Minimum 4 years, maximum 5 years.

  • Master’s: Minimum 2 years, maximum 3 years.

  • Doctoral: Minimum 3 years, maximum 4 years (with the possibility of extending the duration by up to two additional semesters, subject to the advisor’s discretion and approval by the university’s Special Cases Commission).

The academic year comprises two semesters:

  1. First Semester: Begins on Mehr 1 (September 23) and concludes on Bahman 15 (February 4).

  2. Second Semester: Starts on Bahman 15 (February 4) and continues until Tir 15 (July 6), with a two-week interruption for the Iranian New Year (Nowruz) holidays (Esfand 29 to Farvardin 13; March 19 to April 1).

Persian Language Center
 
The Center for Teaching Persian to Non-Persian Speakers at the University of Kurdistan received its operating license from the Ministry of Science on January 20, 2017.
Consular Affairs Department
 
Facilitating the administrative process of all issues related to non-Iranian students, including: issuing residence permits, extending residence permits, issuing family residence permits, etc.
