In a meeting attended by senior officials of the Ministry of Science and representatives of the country's top 19 universities;

Director of International Affairs at the University of Kurdistan Attends the Fourth In-Person Meeting of the National Working Group for Attracting International Students

According to the Public Relations of the University of Kurdistan, Dr. Hossein Bivarani, Director of International Affairs at the University of Kurdistan and Secretary of Region 5 for Attracting International Students, attended the 72nd meeting (the 4th in-person session) of the National Recruitment Working Group. The event was held on August 2, 2026 (Mordad 11, 1405), from 7:30 AM to 7:00 PM in the Mofatteh Hall of the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology (MSRT).

The meeting, attended by deputies and senior managers of the MSRT, reviewed policies, strategies, and operational plans across six specialized areas within six distinct panels. These included:

  • International: Chaired by Dr. Ghabool, Head of the MSRT Center for International Scientific Cooperation.

  • Educational: Featuring Dr. Vahedi, MSRT Deputy for Education, and Dr. Ghaderi, Director General of the Higher Education Expansion Office.

  • Technology and Innovation: Led by Dr. Shahiki, MSRT Deputy for Technology and Innovation.

  • Research: Directed by Dr. Abtahi, MSRT Deputy for Research.

  • Strategic Planning: With Dr. Semnanian, Advisor to the Minister.

  • Ministerial Domain: Chaired by Dr. Shams Bakhsh, Acting Minister of MSRT.

It is worth noting that the first five panels were managed by Dr. Abbas Ghanbari, Deputy for Scholarships and Overseas Student Affairs, while the final panel (Ministerial domain) was moderated by Dr. Saeed Habiba, Deputy Minister and Head of the Student Affairs Organization.

Notably, the National Working Group for Attracting International Students is a specialized and strategic body within the Ministry of Science, established to organize, formulate policies, and supervise the admission process of foreign students in Iranian universities. This working group consists of 19 top universities in the country, including 10 universities based in Tehran and 9 provincial universities. Alongside the universities of Tabriz, Shahid Chamran of Ahvaz, Shiraz, Imam Khomeini International, Isfahan, Mazandaran, Shahid Bahonar of Kerman, and Ferdowsi of Mashhad, the University of Kurdistan proudly holds membership in this strategic working group.
