At the Third Meeting of the National Working Group on Attracting International Students:

Director of International Affairs of the University of Kurdistan Actively Participates in the Meeting of the National Working Group on Attracting International Students

The Director of International Affairs of the University of Kurdistan attended the third in-person meeting of the National Working Group on Attracting International Students, hosted by the Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST).

Dr. Hossein Bivarani, Director of International Affairs at the University of Kurdistan, actively participated in the third in-person meeting (the 68th consecutive meeting) of the members of the National Working Group on Attracting International Students, held on Sunday, June 14, 2026 (24 Khordad 1405), hosted by IUST.

During this meeting—attended by the Deputy Minister of Science and Head of the Student Affairs Organization, the Deputy for Scholarships and Overseas Students Affairs, the Director-General of International Students at the Student Affairs Organization, the President of IUST, and a group of working group members—the performance of universities in attracting international students during the wartime period, the level of institutional resilience, and the continuation of the country's scientific diplomacy in crisis conditions were thoroughly examined.

As a member of this working group, Dr. Bivarani presented a comprehensive report on the status of international affairs at the University of Kurdistan. He also put forward his proposals regarding innovative policy-making, the significance of international marketing, and the identification of new target countries to diversify the intake of foreign students.

In the concluding segment of the meeting, the members of the working group issued a statement emphasizing the implementation of transformative programs tailored to post-war requirements. These include leveraging the capacities of e-learning, implementing smart infrastructure, and streamlining the agile processes for the recruitment and admission of international students.

It is worth mentioning that the University of Kurdistan, alongside the universities of Tabriz, Shahid Chamran of Ahvaz, Shiraz, Shahid Bahonar of Kerman, Isfahan, Mazandaran, Ferdowsi of Mashhad, Imam Khomeini International, Tehran, Shahid Beheshti, Iran University of Science and Technology, Amirkabir University of Technology, Sharif University of Technology, Tarbiat Modares, Kharazmi, K. N. Toosi University of Technology, Allameh Tabataba'i, and Alzahra, are esteemed members of the National Working Group on Attracting International Students.

As a member of this national working group, the University of Kurdistan has consistently taken significant steps toward elevating its international standing and expanding scientific and cultural interactions with other nations.

It should be noted that Dr. Hossein Bivarani was appointed as the Director of International Affairs of the University of Kurdistan in January 2026 (Dey 1404).
