According to the results of the QS Asian University Rankings 2024, the University of Kurdistan has successfully made its debut in the list of top Asian universities, securing a position between 300-291.
QS Ranking: University of Kurdistan's Presence among Top Universities in Asia
QS Ranking System is one of the reputable evaluation systems for universities, which annually introduces the top universities worldwide. Since 2004, this ranking system has been publishing the rankings of global universities using six evaluation indicators and a list of top universities. The required information for this ranking system is collected through surveys of subject experts, employer surveys, the Scopus citation database, and questionnaires completed by universities.
In the QS ranking list of Asian universities in 2024, there are 857 universities from countries such as Bangladesh, Brunei, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Iran, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Macao, Malaysia, Mongolia, Pakistan, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Tajikistan, Thailand, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam. Additionally, the names of 31 Iranian universities stand out in this ranking, and the University of Kurdistan ranks 15th among Iranian universities (comprehensive and industrial), 67th among South Asian universities, and overall between 300-291 among top Asian universities.
The evaluation indicators for this ranking are as follows:
1. Research and Academic Reputation: Includes academic reputation score (30% weight), citations per paper score (10% weight), and faculty/student ratio (5% weight).
2. Employer Reputation: Employer reputation score (20% weight).
3. Faculty and Student Quality: Includes faculty/student ratio (10% weight) and proportion of faculty members with a PhD (5% weight).
4. Internationalization: Includes international research network score (10% weight), international student exchange programs score (5% weight), international faculty score (2.5% weight), and international student score (2.5% weight).
