Active Participation in Dubai's International Conference and Negotiations for Scientific Cooperation

 

The University of Kurdistan participated in the Global Arabic Language Educators' Meeting held in the United Arab Emirates, representing Iran as the sole guest of honor of the International Association of Arabic Language. The group of Arabic Language and Literature from the Faculty of Languages and Literature participated in the 10th International Arabic Language Conference as an official and active member of the association. This conference was organized by the association and the Arab Universities Union, in collaboration with UNESCO and other prestigious international scientific and cultural institutions, in Dubai, UAE. Simultaneously, a scientific meeting of Arabic language department heads was held, where Dr. Sharafat Karimi, the head of the Arabic Language and Literature Department at the University of Kurdistan, was present as the sole Iranian representative and a special guest of the association.

In this prestigious scientific event, recognized as the most important scientific conference in the field of Arabic language teaching and research, held annually with the participation of prominent professors and researchers in this field, the head of the Arabic Language and Literature Department, representing the University of Kurdistan for the second time, held initial negotiations with officials, representatives, and heads of departments from universities worldwide, including Al-Azhar University in Egypt, Mohammed bin Zayed University, Al Ain University, and the University of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates, to establish a memorandum of understanding for bilateral scientific and research cooperation.

Dr. Karimi expressed her hope that these negotiations and the presentation of the initial draft of the scientific, educational, and research Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) would mark the beginning of international interactions between the University of Kurdistan and these universities, leading to an increase and expansion of international scientific interactions. She also added that the Arabic Language Department at the University of Kurdistan began its activities in 2023, with the participation of herself and Dr. Jamil Jaafari. This year, the department head and Dr. Hassan Sarbaz, as two faculty members of the University of Kurdistan, presented their research papers at the conference.
