A joint meeting was held between the Faculty of Science and the Faculty of Natural Resources of the University of Kurdistan and the Faculty of Earth Sciences of the University of Breslau, Poland, on Thursday, February 17th, and the two sides discussed opportunities for joint cooperation.
Dr. Fouad Ghasemi, International Representative of the Faculty of Science, Dr. Habibollah Mohammadi, International Representative of the Faculty of Natural Resources, Dr. Farhad Ahmadnejad, Representative of the Department of Earth, and Dr. Vahid Zamani of the Faculty of Natural Resources were present at the meeting. Dr. Magdalena Matosiak-Malik and Dr. Adriana Trojanowska-Elichor from the Polish University also attended the meeting.
The meeting started with the initial speech of both parties and the introduction of the participating members, and then the representatives of each group introduced the lecture and the relevant groups. Afterwards, in the final section, the two sides discussed international cooperation. According to the agreements made, in the next few weeks, another meeting will be held to acquaint the faculty members and the potentials of the two sides with more details. The parties also reached an initial agreement on the use of the professor / student exchange program, which will benefit a maximum of 3 students and 3 professors in the framework of this plan. The parties also reached an initial agreement to hold a joint school and webinars, the program of which will be finalized soon.
The University of Breslau's School of Earth Sciences is ranked 601st to 800th in the world, according to the Times Rankings. It is also the 6th top university in Poland.
